A Hard Day's Night in Santa Monica

The Beatles are still alive and kicking!  Who knew? In fact, they perform every every Sunday night at 10:00 PM at the British pub, Britannia, in Santa Monica.  As soon as I heard about these regular appearances I was intrigued; I absolutely had to see the band firsthand. We ladies put our dancing shoes on, powdered our noses, and excitedly belted out Beatles tunes as we drove, enhancing our "time travel" experience.

We got to the pub early enough to stake out a prime plot of dance floor right up front.  As soon as the music started we twisted and shouted until our little toes were sore.  Such a good pain!

The band plays for a solid three hours at least, and the ebb and flow of night revelers is constant, so it's not necessary to be at Britannia before "The Beatles" begin playing.  They perform all the classics, as well as less-known tunes that only hardcore Beatles fans would know and request.  Britannia offered a nice change of scene in terms of night-life activity; it was really relaxed and everyone seemed to be having a genuinely good time.  I will definitely be heading back in the near future!

i spy a beatle!
